I truly appreciate the many ways the Friends support our library’s mission of lifelong learning. And your support just became even more important! The freedom to read is vital, and the library plays an essential role by ensuring that materials are available for everyone in our community.
It is imperative that Friends speak up for our library! How can you help support the freedom to read? Please visit crrlfriends.org/advocacy. Here you will find information on how to contact your elected representatives, scheduled public hearings, and much more.
Did you know that currently Spotsylvania branches are open fewer hours than those in Stafford or the City of Fredericksburg? If you would like to see those hours restored, you can contact your Spotsylvania representative. Contact info can be found at crrlfriends.org/advocacy.
I also encourage you to attend the next Library Board of Trustees Meeting, which will be held Monday, September 12 at 4:30 at the Fredericksburg Branch. You will find more info about the meeting at librarypoint.org/board-of-trustees.
You can also find more information pertaining to our advocacy efforts on the Friends’ Facebook page. Follow us at facebook.com/CRRLFriends or search “CRRLFRIENDS” on Facebook, where we are starting community discussions about the value of our library and the role libraries play in our lives. Now let’s make our voices heard!
